The introduction to the book begins on speaking about the birth of the Homo Sapiens and how they made their way around the world from their birthplace of Africa. It immediately goes into the first human societies and their traits. The first societies were very egalitarian, and valued everyone apart of their group. Everyone had a role and everyone mattered to the health of the society as a whole. The first societies were gatherer-hunters, and were very nomadic in their stability and moved around alot, following the food sources.
